KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 – The Attorney General\u2019s Chambers (AGC) has gazetted the\u00a0Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) (Extension of Operation) Regulations 2020\u00a0\u00a0for the second\u00a0phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO) from April 1 to April 14.<\/p>\n
The AGC, in a statement on Monday night, also said that for the third phase from April 15 to April\u00a028,\u00a0the respective laws are being prepared.<\/p>\n
The AGC was responding to the statement made by lawyer,\u00a0Datuk N.Sivananthan in the article, \u201cNew gazette needed to enforce phase 3 of MCO, says Bar\u201d, published by a portal today.<\/p>\n
Among others, the article stated that while the AGC had gazetted the law for the first phase of the MCO from March18-31, it did not do so for the second and the third.<\/p>\n
Without that process, it appears to denote that there were no\u00a0further extensions since April 1, the lawyer said.<\/p>\n
The AGC in its statement listed four laws to be in force for the period of April 1-14.<\/p>\n
1)Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases\u00a0(Declaration of Infected Local Areas)\u00a0\u00a0(Extension of Operation) Order 2020<\/p>\n
2)\u00a0Prevention\u00a0and\u00a0Control\u00a0of\u00a0Infectious Diseases\u00a0(Measures within the Infected\u00a0Local Areas) (No. 2) Regulations 2020<\/p>\n
3)Prevention\u00a0and\u00a0Control\u00a0of\u00a0Infectious Diseases\u00a0(Measures within the Infected\u00a0Local Areas)\u00a0(No. 2) (Amendment) Regulations 2020<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
4)\u00a0Prevention\u00a0and\u00a0Control\u00a0of\u00a0Infectious Diseases\u00a0 Regulations 2020 (Compounding of Offences) (Amendment)(No.2) Regulations 2020.<\/p>\n
