{"id":18296,"date":"2026-06-30T20:55:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T12:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=18296"},"modified":"2026-06-30T20:55:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T12:55:15","slug":"senior-enforcement-officer-remanded-for-extortion-bribe-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=18296","title":{"rendered":"Senior Enforcement Officer Remanded For Extortion &amp; Bribe Allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KUALA LUMPUR<\/strong>, 30 JUNE \u2014 A senior officer from an enforcement agency has been arrested by the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly soliciting an RM50,000 bribe to overlook a company operating unregistered vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to an agency source, the male suspect, who is in his 30s, was apprehended yesterday afternoon around 5:00 PM during an operation in the Klang Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Preliminary investigations found that the suspect allegedly committed the offence on June 23 by soliciting an RM50,000 bribe to close the company&#8217;s case,&#8221; the source revealed. &#8220;However, the suspect agreed to accept RM15,000 in cash after being asked to reduce the amount from RM50,000.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the arrest, the suspect was brought before the Shah Alam Magistrate&#8217;s Court this morning.
