BUTTERWORTH, 21 JUNE – A group of ten individuals claim to have fallen victim to a fraudulent Cash Trust investment scheme, suffering collective losses totaling RM948,550.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victims, ranging in age from 44 to 70, addressed the media during a press conference on June 21, 2026, accompanied by legal representatives Fu Xiexiang and Asri, as well as Bagan Dalam assemblyman Kumaran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victims reported being drawn into the scheme between 2022 and 2023, often motivated by recommendations from trusted insurance agents or relatives. The institution lured investors with promises of an 8% return, bolstered by claims that it possessed a legitimate business license and enjoyed the backing of the central bank. While some initial returns were distributed to foster trust, the institutions failed to return the principal amounts once the contracts matured starting in early 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zhou Chunzhong, a 44-year-old victim, recounted how he was misled by the perceived legitimacy of the institution. He noted that many elderly victims were not primarily driven by high returns, but rather by misplaced trust in those who introduced the opportunity. Currently, the company remains in operation, with agents attempting to deflect responsibility by pressuring victims to sign 30-year repayment agreements instead of returning their invested capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawyer Fu Xiexiang emphasized that according to guidelines issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia on May 22, 2026, any entity marketing cash trust products must hold a valid license. He warned that investing in unauthorized products significantly complicates efforts for authorities, including the central bank, the Securities Commission, and the police, to facilitate the recovery of losses. He advised the public to rigorously verify the license of any entity selling such products and to report incidents to both the police and the Securities Commission to assist in active investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bagan Dalam assemblyman Kumaran expressed alarm over the scale of the operation, estimating that approximately 1,800 investors nationwide have been affected, with total losses reaching RM104 million. Despite previous reports to the authorities, the institution continues to solicit new investments, prompting calls for more aggressive intervention by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. All victims involved have lodged formal police reports, and they continue to urge enforcement agencies to take decisive action to prevent further financial damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China Press described the name of the Cash Trust as starting with the letter A. Local portal Guang Ming Daily named the Cash Trust as Ai Generation Cash Trust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
