KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today called for an immediate and transparent investigation into the assault case involving the son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anwar said he had conveyed the matter to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have yet to recover from the scourge of bullying in schools, and now we are confronted with another deplorable act \u2014 a malicious and treacherous assault on the son of Rafizi Ramli,\u201d he said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also prayed for the well-being of Rafizi and his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, Rafizi said that at about 1.45 pm, as his son and wife were getting into their car to leave a shopping mall in Putrajaya, a man grabbed the boy and pricked him with a syringe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He claimed that the assault involved two men on a motorcycle, clad in black attire and helmets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the incident, his son was taken to a hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
