KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 (Bernama) — The MADANI government will continue to listen to the voices of all segments of society, including fishermen, farmers, factory workers, small traders, and youth, not just the voices behind political microphones on rally stages, said the Prime Minister\u2019s senior political secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said under the leadership of the MADANI government, the people are allowed to gather, but their voices must not be exploited, and democracy must not be held hostage in the name of vengeance and power struggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMalaysia MADANI respects the right to assemble and express opinions. The government ensures that no harsh action is taken, no tear gas is fired, and no stages are destroyed. The people\u2019s right to speak is protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHowever, there is a big difference between the people\u2019s voice and the political agendas of certain parties who are trying to drag the people into validating their lust for power,\u201d he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pointed out that the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is built upon an electoral mandate, and advised Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his coalition partners to return to the electoral arena if they are confident that public sentiment has shifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot through street rallies, not by inflating crowd numbers, and not by manipulating racial and religious issues to provoke emotions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
