Kuala Lumpur, December 1<\/strong> — The KL High Court has fixed January 6 2023 to decide on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim\u2019s discovery application in response to a sexual assault suit filed by his former research assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anwar’s lawyer, Navpreet Singh said judicial commissioner Mohd Johan Lee fixed the date after hearing submissions from both parties during an online proceeding today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navpreet said Anwar was seeking a few documents from Muhammed Yusoff Rawther as pleaded in his statement of claim, among them a statutory declaration dated Nov 19, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n

In court filings, Anwar stated that the documents requested were important to verify the \u201cfactual events\u201d pleaded by Yusoff in his statement of claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawyer Mahajoth Singh appeared for Yusoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navpreet said Anwar\u2019s other application for interrogatories against Yusoff had been withdrawn with costs of RM1,000 paid to the plaintiff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yusoff filed the suit against the PKR president, accusing Anwar of sexually assaulting him 10 days before he won the Port Dickson by-election on Oct 13, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He claimed to have suffered serious physical, psychological and social trauma as a result of the incident at Anwar\u2019s residence in Segambut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
