Kuala Lumpur, Nov 22<\/strong> — Perikatan Nasional (PN) has rejected the Yang di-Pertuan Agong\u2019s proposal for a unity government between the coalition and Pakatan Harapan (PH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was revealed by (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin, who said His Majesty made the proposal during their audience, which was also attended by Anwar Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was asked to sign a document if we agreed. I signed, but said ‘do not agree’.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That is a stand we have taken,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n

Muhyiddin also showed an official proof of receipt from the palace of 115 statutory declarations showing that he had the majority support to form the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That is why we were confident that we could form the government. But as you know, we were told it was not sufficient. I don’t know the reasons behind this. But here is the proof.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As such, Tuanku proposed that we join forces with PH to form a unity government.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the press conference, Muhyiddin said PN was firm about their stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But on whatever basis, PN will not agree to it”<\/em> he reiterated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
