KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 <\/strong>— Application\u00a0to be observers for the 15th\u00a0General Election is now opened from today\u00a0(Oct 11) until Oct 21, according to the Election Commission (EC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said applications to be observers to represent any organisation would be subjected to the stipulated terms and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Observers are allowed to observe the election processes such as the nomination process, campaigning, early voting, voting process,\u00a0vote counting and vote tallying until the announcement of the election results,\u201d<\/em> he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n

He advised those who are interested to submit their applications before the application closing date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, following weeks of intense speculation over GE15 being held during the annual monsoon season, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 According to Article 55 (4) of the Federal Constitution, the GE15 must be held within 60 days of the dissolution of the Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
