{"id":14112,"date":"2022-06-11T19:05:21","date_gmt":"2022-06-11T11:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=14112"},"modified":"2022-06-11T19:05:23","modified_gmt":"2022-06-11T11:05:23","slug":"abolition-of-mandatory-death-penalty-wont-jeopardise-police-enforcement-hamzah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=14112","title":{"rendered":"Abolition of mandatory death penalty won&#8217;t jeopardise police enforcement &#8211; Hamzah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>BALING, June 11<\/strong> &#8212; The government\u2019s move to abolish the mandatory death penalty will not jeopardise\u00a0the police force\u2019s enforcement efforts, in particular serious\u00a0crimes, Home Minister\u00a0Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the Home Ministry backed the decision and stressed that police enforcement and investigations will be carried out&nbsp;as usual.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe ourselves, the police themselves share the thought that maybe it is a good thing if there is some relaxation in terms of the mandatory death penalty.
