{"id":14092,"date":"2022-06-08T12:00:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T04:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=14092"},"modified":"2022-06-08T12:00:10","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T04:00:10","slug":"sarawak-civil-service-to-continue-using-english-officially-says-abang-johari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=14092","title":{"rendered":"Sarawak civil service to continue using English officially, says Abang Johari"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>KUCHING, June 8 <\/strong>&#8212; The Sarawak civil service\u00a0will continue to use English as the\u00a0official language along with Bahasa Malaysia, State Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said this stand is in accordance with the Sarawak Constitution whereby both languages could be used in official matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI hope (matter) this will\u00a0be free from polemics.\u00a0Sarawak, we got our own stand. Go ahead and use\u00a0 English. We will not be penalised for using English. Sarawak civil servants, you can use English.
