SHAH ALAM, March 27<\/strong>\u00a0— Federal police anti-narcotics chief\u00a0Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has reiterated that anyone involved in illegal drug activities would be hauled up regardless of their background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director said investigation papers would be opened for all cases before they were referred to the Attorney-General for further action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“No matter what\u00a0his or her background is, whether an Ustaz, tok guru, politician\u00a0or\u00a0civil servant, anyone involved (in drug abuse) will be arrested.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Attorney-General will see if there’s sufficient evidence. At\u00a0the police level, we will conduct a full\u00a0investigation.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Do not focus on artists only as\u00a0others are also involved. Just look at the record\u00a0of those nabbed – civil servants, lecturers, and politicians. We will arrest whoever is involved,\u201d<\/em> he told a press conference here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayob Khan\u00a0said this when asked to comment on the arrest of a\u00a0prominent local composer \u00e4nd nasyid singer who was allegedly caught cultivating\u00a017 ganja plants in his condominium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
