JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 10 \u00a0— The Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) has been offered by\u00a0Amanah and DAP to contest six\u00a0seats\u00a0in the upcoming Johor state election.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six seats were contested by Bersatu in the 14th general election when the party was part of the Pakatan Harapan alliance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was announced in a joint statement issued today signed by Amanah president Mohamad Sabu; DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUDA has been offered to contest Tenang;\u00a0Bukit Kepong;\u00a0Parit Raja; Machap; Puteri Wangsa and\u00a0Bukit Permai, the statement read.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDAP has agreed for two\u00a0seats to be allocated to MUDA, namely Machap and Bukit Permai, while the rest are from AMANAH.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMeanwhile, negotiations between MUDA and PKR are ongoing for the sake of unity in facing the state election,\u201d<\/em> read the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three parties also achieved a consensus on several objectives, including not having overlapping contests and also moving together as election strategic partners, the statement further said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Johor PKR State Leadership Council chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said the party had agreed to offer three seats to MUDA to contest in the PRN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the decision was reached through three series of negotiations with MUDA and it was in line with the intentions expressed by the PH Presidential Council and Johor PH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“During the series of negotiations, each party gave its views honestly and openly. As a result of the negotiations, PKR offered three seats to MUDA, and is awaiting feedback on the offer,”<\/em> he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
