Foreign investors ended their three-week streak of foreign inflow to\u00a0record cumulative net outflow of RM160.70 million compared with\u00a0a net inflow of\u00a0RM116.45 million\u00a0in the preceding week,\u00a0MIDF Research said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week was a&nbsp;short trading week as the market was closed for&nbsp;the Chinese New Year holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brokerage noted that&nbsp;foreign investors and retailers sold RM131.68 million and RM10.33 million net of local equities, respectively, while local institutions started the week as net buyers of RM142.02 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe largest net selling by foreign investors was recorded on Monday, while\u00a0the momentum of foreign net inflow on Friday slowed down to RM19.48 million,&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0MIDF Research said in a note today.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said retailers were net sellers on&nbsp;Monday and Thursday but turned&nbsp;net buyers on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;The largest net selling by the retailers was recorded on Monday at\u00a0RM10.33 million, and the only net buying which was on Friday to the tune of RM24.17 million.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-16-at-11.02.46.png\" alt=\"foreign investors\" class=\"wp-image-10825\" width=\"519\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-16-at-11.02.46.png 589w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-16-at-11.02.46-300x186.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-16-at-11.02.46-161x100.png 161w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-16-at-11.02.46-350x217.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 519px) 100vw, 519px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Despite more days of selling for the week, in total, retailers net bought RM5.24 million worth of equities in Bursa Malaysia,&#8221;<\/em> it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, local institutions recorded cumulative weekly net buying of RM155.47 million and were net buyers for the majority of the week except on Friday at RM4.69 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brokerage said the largest net buying on Monday amounted\u00a0to RM142.02 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;In terms of participation, the retail investors, local institutions and foreign investors recorded a weekly movement of -17.66 percent, -33.24 percent,\u00a0and 2.90 percent, respectively, in average daily trade value,\u201d<\/em> MIDF Research said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd\u00a0registered the highest net money inflow of RM1.94 million last week, but\u00a0its share price was 1.97 percent\u00a0lower for the week, outperforming the local bourse which had a 0.18 percent\u00a0weekly increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Bank Bhd saw the largest net money outflow of RM11.04 million last week, but\u00a0its stock price was 0.24 percent\u00a0higher for the week, outperforming FBM KLCI which was 0.18 percent\u00a0higher during the review week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/\">NMT<\/a> as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bernama.com\/en\/business\/news.php?id=2049791\">Bernama<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 &#8212;
