JOHOR BAHRU, 6 Feb —\u00a0Pakatan Harapan (PH) has not discussed the potential Menteri Besar candidate if the coalition wins in the coming\u00a0Johor state election,\u00a0 said its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anwar, who is PKR president, said what was more important now was to ensure PH’s victory in the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Even the candidates who will be contesting (in the state election) has not been decided … the persons we have\u00a0so far are from Johor and those who have families in Johor. \u00a0I also have families in Johor,\u00a0but I am not contesting,”<\/em> he told\u00a0a press conference after launching the\u00a0Johor PKR Youth election machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anwar said this when asked on talks that PH is fielding Simpang Renggam Member of Parliament Dr. Maszlee Malik, who is former Education Minister, as the Johor Menteri Besar candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On PH\u2019s cooperation with Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), Anwar said talks were being held among the leaders in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday,\u00a0MUDA president\u00a0Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman\u00a0said discussions and negotiations between the party and PH on their cooperation in the Johor state election were\u00a0going\u00a0smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, at another event, Anwar said the people should reject elected representatives who \u201cjumped party\u201d, describing them as party traitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring the campaign, party members (machinery) worked hard, with no payment given, but when they (elected representative) won, they betrayed the party…don’t forgive people like this.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe betrayal can, to an extent,\u00a0lead to a government to collapse. That is why we must be very careful. Choose someone that we feel confident, loyal to the party’s struggle and principles, this concerns dignity and integrity, as well as ethics, which we cannot set aside,” <\/em>he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
