The number of flood evacuees remaining at temporary relief centres (PPS) in Selangor continues to drop this morning, while those in Pahang, Melaka, Kelantan and Negeri Sembilan, unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) InfoBencana portal, there are 20,026 evacuees from&nbsp;6,136 families still housed at&nbsp;130&nbsp;PPS in the five states this morning compared to&nbsp;21,544 evacuees from 6,563 families recorded last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>SELANGOR<\/strong>, the number of victims had decreased to 7,751 at 39 PPS this morning from 8,644 at 45 centres last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was reported in the publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my that the water level at Sungai Langat in\u00a0Bukit Changgang, Kuala Langat, is now declining after reaching a warning level of 3.66 meters at\u00a07.15 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Selangor Police announced six roads remain inaccessible for most vehicles, namely Bridge\u00a0FT 31 Dengkil &#8211; Banting;\u00a0Jalan Genting Peras \u2013 Kuala Klawang; Jalan BRP 7\/2 Bukit Rahman Putra; the bridge heading to Subang shooting range and\u00a0Jalan PJU 7, in front of Mutiara Damansara MRT station; while Jalan Kuala Kubu Bharu &#8211; Bukit Fraser heading to Peretak is open only for light vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-28-at-13.49.48.png\" alt=\"evacuees\" class=\"wp-image-12821\" width=\"514\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-28-at-13.49.48.png 589w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-28-at-13.49.48-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-28-at-13.49.48-184x100.png 184w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-28-at-13.49.48-350x190.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>PAHANG<\/strong>, 90 PPS remained open to accommodate&nbsp;12,692 victims from six flooded districts, namely&nbsp;Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, Maran, Kuantan dan Pekan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The water level in Sungai Kundang in Maran was reported to still remain above the warning level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Meteorological Department forecasted gloomy weather in Kuantan and Pekan this morning, while the weather in other districts is expected to be good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>KELANTAN<\/strong>, the number of flood evacuees taking shelter at two PPS in Pasir Mas remains unchanged at 152 from 46 families as at 7 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PPS are at&nbsp;Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tok Deh and&nbsp;SK Gual Periok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Drainage and Irrigation Department\u2019s official InfoBanjir portal reported that no major rivers in Kelantan were at the danger&nbsp;level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>MELAKA<\/strong>,\u00a0the number of victims remained unchanged\u00a0at 26\u00a0people from eight\u00a0families, as of\u00a08 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melaka Civil Defence Force (APM) director Lt Col (PA) Cuthbert John Martin Quadra said only one PPS&nbsp;is&nbsp;still operating, namely&nbsp;at SK&nbsp;Penghulu Benteng in&nbsp;Jasin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>NEGERI SEMBILAN<\/strong><em>,&nbsp;<\/em>State APM director&nbsp;Lt Col (PA) Mohd Syukri Madnor said the number of victims in the state remains&nbsp;unchanged with 58 evacuees from 19 families still being housed at two PPS in Jelebu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/\">NMT<\/a> as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bernama.com\/en\/news.php?id=2038197\">Bernama<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 &#8212;
