The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced that all categories of travelers who are Malaysian and Singapore\u00a0citizens will be able to enter Singapore and Malaysia, respectively, via the land vaccinated travel lane (VTL-Land)\u00a0effective\u00a0Dec 20,\u00a02021, due to increased public demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holders of Malaysian Permanent Resident status can continue to enter Malaysia via the VTL (Land).&nbsp;Previously, only citizens, permanent residents, and long-term&nbsp;pass holders of the country were&nbsp;able to travel via the land VTL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, travelers are still required to be fully vaccinated and unvaccinated children below the age of 12\u00a0must be accompanied by vaccinated parents or guardians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEligible travelers will be subjected to COVID-19 testing and further health requirements determined by the respective country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-19.41.18.png\" alt=\"vtl\" class=\"wp-image-12678\" width=\"488\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-19.41.18.png 589w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-19.41.18-300x159.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-19.41.18-188x100.png 188w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-19.41.18-350x186.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe VTL-Land will still be limited to bus transportation and designated bus operators will offer tickets to meet the increased demand and subject to the prevailing public health situation,\u201d MITI said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to any ticket purchase, VTL travelers going to Malaysia are required to register at <a href=\"https:\/\/mysafetravel.gov.my\">https:\/\/mysafetravel.gov.my<\/a>, whereas travelers from Malaysia to Singapore\u00a0are required to register at <a href=\"https:\/\/go.gov.sg\/vtl-portal\">https:\/\/go.gov.sg\/vtl-portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further details pertaining to the VTL-Land requirements can be found at https:\/\/www.miti.gov.my and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safetravel.ica.gov.sg\">https:\/\/www.safetravel.ica.gov.sg<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate statement, the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said \u201cthere will be no change to the current test protocols in Singapore and&nbsp;Malaysia\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry noted that all travelers entering Singapore will have to abide by the prevailing\u00a0test protocols and safety management measures, which include the post-arrival\u00a07-day COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The launch of the Vaccinated VTL-Land\u00a0between Malaysia and Singapore on Nov 29,\u00a02021, is to facilitate quarantine-free, seamless cross-border movement by integrating health protocol, security, and immigration clearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative allowed those separated from their loved ones due to the pandemic to travel home and reunite with their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True to its purpose of providing opportunities for both countries to reopen the land border in a gradual, safe, systematic, and sustainable manner;
