SHAH ALAM,\u00a0Nov 12 \u00a0— All 28 Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates contesting in the Melaka state election will have to sign a\u00a0pledge to wage war against corruption.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this was in line with the coalition\u2019s stance to stand firm against abuse of power and corruption in addition to serving the people fairly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the PN\u2019s government guarantee, which is the same assurance for the people of Melaka. To show that we are committed to waging war against corruption, all our candidates have to sign a pledge on this in a day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is also to tell the people that the government that is formed after Nov 20 will be the Melaka PN government with policies\u00a0based on the principles I mentioned\u00a0earlier,\u201d Muhyiddin said at the \u2018Pentas PRN Melaka PN\u2019 program.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, streamed live on Muhyiddin\u2019s Facebook page, was also attended by PAS president\u00a0Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and\u00a0Gerakan president Datuk Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, said PN\u2019s manifesto for the Melaka polls will be announced anytime soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pagoh MP, meanwhile, also hoped that some leeway can be given to candidates contesting in the election to meet voters during the campaign period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muhyiddin, who is\u00a0National Recovery Council (MPN) chairman, also hoped that\u00a0candidates will be given the opportunity to\u00a0introduce themselves on television.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early voting is on Nov 16 and polling is set for Nov 20 to elect representatives to the 28 seats in the Melaka State Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
