KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16\u00a0—\u00a0The government is leaving it to the authorities to take action against any party involved in the Pandora Papers leak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob gave the assurance that the government would not stop the authorities from taking any action if they had strong evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In the country, we are open, if it is found that there is a case against anybody, the authorities can take action, we are open and leaving it to the authorities (to investigate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The authorities,  the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) read all the reports, news. It is up to them, we will not stop them (from investigating),\u201d he told a press conference after visiting the Seri Perak Public Housing here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Monday, the Dewan Rakyat maintained its decision to disallow a motion to debate the leaked Pandora Papers claimed to contain confidential financial files of several prominent figures in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The motion was brought by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
