{"id":11999,"date":"2021-10-12T13:58:09","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T05:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11999"},"modified":"2021-10-12T13:58:11","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T05:58:11","slug":"revocation-of-emergency-ordinances-to-be-discussed-at-next-dewan-rakyat-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11999","title":{"rendered":"Revocation of emergency ordinances to be discussed at next Dewan Rakyat meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 &#8212; The motion to debate and pass the proposed revocation of the emergency ordinances as provided for in Article 150 (3) of the Federal Constitution will be brought to the next meeting of Dewan Rakyat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s Department (Parliament and Law)\u00a0Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar announced during the sitting today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI call for the motion brought forth by the Prime Minister on the revocation of the emergency ordinances listed as number 13 in today\u2019s Order Paper\u00a0to be brought to the next meeting too,\u201d he said before the start of the Minister\u2019s Question Time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Order Paper, the ordinances include the Emergency (Essential Powers)\u00a0Ordinance 2021, the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious\u00a0Diseases) (Amendment)\u00a0Ordinance 2021 and the Emergency (Workers\u2019 Minimum Standards of Housing, Accommodations, and Amenities) (Amendment) Ordinance\u00a02021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wan Junaidi also said that eight bills scheduled for second and third readings today would also be brought to the next meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-12-at-13.56.45.png\" alt=\"revocation of\" class=\"wp-image-12000\" width=\"495\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-12-at-13.56.45.png 585w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-12-at-13.56.45-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-12-at-13.56.45-185x100.png 185w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-12-at-13.56.45-350x190.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The bills are the&nbsp;Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Bill 2020, Factories and Machinery (Repeal) Bill 2020, Malaysian Space Board Bill 2020, Independent Police Conduct Commission Bill 2020, Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2021, Trade Descriptions (Amendment) Bill 2021, Wildlife Conservation (Amendment) Bill 2021, Small Estates (Distribution) (Amendment) Bill 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Wan Junaidi in a statement said the decision&nbsp;was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob&nbsp;following a request by the opposition leader to delay the tabling of the motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request was made to allow more time for the motion to be debated by Members of the Parliament before passing the resolution, the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf we were to table it today, we will only have one hour to debate on the motion.
