Azmin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24&nbsp; &#8212; The move by&nbsp;Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Taiyo Yuden Co Ltd\u2019s subsidiary, Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd to&nbsp;expand its multilayer ceramic capacitors manufacturing facility in Kuching&nbsp;is a testament to Malaysia being a preferred hub for global manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Minister cum Minister of International Trade and Industry&nbsp;Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said&nbsp;Taiyo Yuden\u2019s decision to&nbsp;inject RM680 million capital investments for its new facility, which will generate 2,000 high-skilled jobs,&nbsp;speaks volumes for foreign investors\u2019 confidence in Malaysia\u2019s business ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, he said the&nbsp;major investment&nbsp;bodes well for National Investment Aspirations (NIA), which aims to&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;that Malaysia stays at the forefront as a global hub for quality investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be realized through\u00a0increasing economic diversity, creating high-skill jobs, and addressing economic imbalances;\u00a0in line with the national Shared Prosperity Vision commitment which would enable Malaysia to become a country that achieves sustainable,\u00a0fair, equitable, and inclusive\u00a0economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-24-at-11.24.52.png\" alt=\"hub\" class=\"wp-image-11691\" width=\"508\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-24-at-11.24.52.png 587w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-24-at-11.24.52-300x161.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-24-at-11.24.52-186x100.png 186w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-24-at-11.24.52-350x188.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mohamed Azmin said Taiyo Yuden\u2019s expansion is the culmination of a series of active and substantive engagements which began during the Trade and Investment Mission (TIM) to Japan in April 2021.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the company\u2019s 36,500-square meters facility in Kuching will have\u00a0state-of-the-art, high-tech equipment and high-energy conservation through the incorporation of\u00a0solar-powered roofs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These environmentally-friendly features will not only enhance production efficiency but also reduce harmful greenhouse impact,&nbsp;in line with the environmental, social and corporate governance values as outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1980, Japan has been the largest foreign investor in terms of implemented projects in Malaysia, with total investments of&nbsp;RM91.4 billion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2020, a total of 2,761 manufacturing projects with Japanese participation had been implemented in industries such as electrical and electronics, chemicals, non-metallic mineral products,\u00a0and transport equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going forward, Mohamed Azmin said&nbsp;Malaysia is confident that&nbsp;foreign direct investments will continue to flow into the country in spite of the challenging global economic landscape, as the government continues to implement&nbsp;initiatives to enhance the business environment and investors\u2019 confidence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;
