KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17  — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, are making a special visit to the United Kingdom (UK) from today till Sept 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisma Putra said in a statement that\u00a0Their Majesties will visit the\u00a0Battersea Power Station, Malaysia’s iconic project in London which is a joint venture between Sime Darby Property, SP Setia Berhad, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their Majesties have consented\u00a0to visit the Malaysian High Commission in London on Sept 24 for a meeting\u00a0with Malaysians including\u00a0entrepreneurs, academics, students, and community leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“On Sept 25, Their Majesties\u00a0are scheduled to visit the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre (TARRC) which is\u00a0owned by the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB)\u00a0and one of the world’s leading rubber research and development (R&D) institutions,” the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Majesty will\u00a0receive a courtesy call from Chief of Defence Staff\u00a0General Nicholas Carter and\u00a0the\u00a0meeting will touch on the defense cooperation between Malaysia and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Wisma Putra,\u00a0the special visit symbolizes the importance of the close relationship between Malaysia and the United Kingdom manifested at the highest level of government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from that, the visit signifies Their Majesties\u2019 concern for the well-being of Malaysians as well as the investment performance and the country’s interests in the United Kingdom, especially during this challenging pandemic period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
