{"id":11380,"date":"2021-09-08T10:57:59","date_gmt":"2021-09-08T02:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11380"},"modified":"2021-09-08T10:58:01","modified_gmt":"2021-09-08T02:58:01","slug":"driving-schools-allowed-to-operate-from-sept-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11380","title":{"rendered":"Driving schools allowed to operate from Sept 9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, Sept 8 &#8212; Motor vehicle driving institutes (ILP) nationwide are allowed to operate from Sept 9 under the National Recovery Plan (NRP) by appointment, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While\u00a0the ILP would be permitted to operate from Sept 9, the examination process to obtain the driving licenses\u00a0would only begin on Sept 17, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is to allow the driving institutes and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to manage any arising issues that the candidates may face,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wee said the permission as approved by the National Security Council (MKN) was subject to full adherence to the current standard operating procedures (SOP) under the NRP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the employees, teaching staff&nbsp;and candidates must be fully vaccinated, verifiable with the COVID-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate&nbsp;and identification card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wee said the driving\u00a0institutes were permitted to operate based on the percentage of employees that had\u00a0been vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-08-at-10.54.02.png\" alt=\"driving\" class=\"wp-image-11381\" width=\"498\" height=\"267\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If 40 percent\u00a0of an ILP\u2019s employees have been vaccinated, it may operate at 60 percent\u00a0of the current staffing.
