{"id":11154,"date":"2021-08-29T12:06:04","date_gmt":"2021-08-29T04:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11154"},"modified":"2021-08-29T12:06:06","modified_gmt":"2021-08-29T04:06:06","slug":"travelers-entering-via-johor-must-submit-quarantine-application-7-days-before-arrival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=11154","title":{"rendered":"Travelers entering via Johor must submit quarantine application 7 days before arrival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29\u00a0&#8212; Travelers entering Malaysia through the Johor international gateway must submit an application to undergo mandatory quarantine at their home or another residence\u00a0at least seven days prior to their arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said travelers would also need to undergo a COVID-19 screening test using the COVID-19 RT-PCR\u00a0test no later than three days before departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The risk assessment for travelers is made based on the application for compulsory quarantine at home and the premises can be used as a quarantine place if it meets the prescribed conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the conditions are that the citizen or foreign traveler must have\u00a0a house or place of residence in Malaysia, tested negative on the RT-PCR test, be fully vaccinated, and that the house or place of residence is appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIndividuals receiving Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Moderna, and Sinopharm vaccines must have passed the 14th day from the date of the second vaccination dose, while recipients of single-dose vaccines such as Johnson &amp; Johnson and CanSino must have passed the 28th day from the date of the jab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-1024x578.jpg\" alt=\"travelers\" class=\"wp-image-7328\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-1024x578.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-177x100.jpg 177w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-350x197.jpg 350w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6-800x451.jpg 800w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/e275de9a0888c1dd1b0e3984f5b267e05fc4e615b67e6.jpg 1044w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Citizens and foreign travelers who do not meet the requirement\u00a0and qualification\u00a0will have to undergo compulsory quarantine at government-gazetted quarantine centers at their own expense,&#8221; he said in a statement on COVID-19 developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Noor Hisham said all travelers would have to undergo a health assessment and RT-PCR test again upon arrival at the international gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travelers with mild symptoms are required to undergo RTK-Antigen or RT-PCR testing, and they are allowed to quarantine at home, however, further action depends on the test results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Travellers who experience moderate or severe symptoms will be referred to an infectious disease physician and further action based on health assessment and expert decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The mandatory quarantine period for travelers from all countries is 14 days.
