KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23\u00a0— DAP secretary-general, Lim Guan Eng recently stated that the DAP is willing to consider the offer to be part of the National Recovery Council (MPN) and the Special Committee on COVID-19 to save lives and livelihoods.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guan Eng, however, said this was provided\u00a0the offer was not token representation and a mere rubber-stamp for the government’s views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe winner cannot take all and the loser should not lose all,\u201d he tweeted briefly in response to Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s maiden speech as the prime minister today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his inaugural\u00a0national address broadcast\u00a0live on major television channels today,\u00a0Ismail Sabri had invited the leaders of opposition parties to be part of the MPN and the Special Committee on COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urging all parties to put an end to power struggles and the people\u2019s restlessness, the prime minister said political stability must be attained as soon as possible through togetherness and cross-party cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The offer was also welcomed\u00a0by PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight now we are in the National Month. Independence from fighting against colonialism further developed the country. Let us all work together as a team for the sake of our beloved country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
