Stop complaining folks, you already “voted” for Anwar

lie

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 – So the most anticipated by-election since the historic 14th General Election last May will soon be upon us.

PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be contesting for the Port Dickson parliamentary seat in Negeri Sembilan. This was after the current PKR MP Daniyal Balagopal Abdullah, a retired naval officer, submitted his resignation to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker.

“Most anticipated” because every one knew it was going to happen.

More so after the former opposition leader was given a fast-track pardon from his conviction for sodomy just days after Pakatan Harapan defeated Barisan Nasional in GE14.

8th Prime Minister

He was always understood to be in line to take over from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and become Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister within the next two to three years.

That always meant a by-election would take place for Anwar to gain a seat in the Dewan Rakyat, as.He could not contest in GE14.

All this was clearly informed following the PH Presidential Council meetings before GE14.

All you voters knew this was going to happen, yet you voted for PH.

All according to plan before GE14

So why all the hue and cry and talk of “violating the trust of voters” now that things have been executed exactly according to plan?

Why are all these PH supporters taking to social media, calling for Anwar to be patient?

Listen here folks, especially you PH supporters and voters who wanted a change in government, just accept this as part of the process of ousting former PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak and BN.

Unless, like Mahathir, you all too did not expect PH to win, and had agreed to the arrangement for the 93-year-old statesman to be a seat warmer for the eventual PM, Anwar, thinking it would not happen.

Well, shame on you all, especially those of you now calling for voters in PD to vote for BN instead as a sign of protest.

Then you are no better than the Umno turncoats who also voted against BN in GE14 out of spite over the choice of candidate or for whatever other reason.

Prove his worth

Let Anwar win, be it undeserving under the circumstances, and prove his worth in the Dewan Rakyat.

As far as I recall, many PH supporters were praising his time as finance minister when compared with ex-PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

So, maybe, he could in time take over the finance ministry from DAP’s Lim Guan Eng.

Or to have a firm grip on power, before taking over as PM, he could even be given the home affairs portfolio, especially with current Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin being unwell.

Whatever happens, let this be a lesson in democracy for all Malaysians. You always get the government you deserve.
