KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 – The first phase of Bantuan Prihatin Nasional will see 8.3 million households and single Malaysians receiving cash payout beginning Monday, April 6.
In a statement today, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Aziz announced that the total payout of RM9.24 Billion would be split into two phases.
“I’m happy to inform that the first phase of PRIHATIN for 8.3 million households and singles have been approved.
“The first payout totalling RM5.63 Billion would be made beginning Monday, April 6.” said Tengku Zafrul.
This should come as good news to millions of Malaysians after an earlier statement by Finance Ministry previously announced the Prihatin payments would be made at the end of April.

As many as 3.24 million under the category of B40 (household monthly income below RM4000) will be getting RM1000 in April (total amount RM3.324 Billion).
Another RM1.81 Billion will be shared by 3.62 million single Malaysians with monthly income below RM2000.
The M40 category under PRIHATIN will see 880,000 households getting a share of RM500 each out of RM0.44 Billion in April.
Another M40 category for singles (with monthly income between RM2001 to RM4000) will see 560,000 receiving a portion RM140 million this month.
The Finance Minister also warned Malaysians to be careful of scammers trying to take advantage to scam those in needs of monetary assistance under PRIHATIN.
He urged the public to refer only to official source of information and not to divulge personal details to unknown parties.
