JOHOR BAHRU, March 26 – Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar applauded Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for announcing good initiatives in battling the COVID19 pandemic.

In a statement last night, HRH Sultan Ibrahim said that he has been keeping apprised of the COVID19 crisis and the efforts taken by the Malaysian government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhyiddin.

“I’d like to congratulate and convey my appreciation to the Prime Minister not only because he has moved various actions to curb the spread of COVID19 virus but also for understanding public sentiment.” said HRH.

He also concurred with the Prime Minister’s move to make an early announcement of the extended period of Movement Control Order (MCO) to Aril 14.

“I see the early announcement to be apt; giving time for the public to make early preparations.” the Johor Ruler said.

Extended Movement Control Order

The Prime Minister had earlier announced the extension of the Movement Control Order to curb the spread of COVID19 virus to April 14.

He also appealed to the public to stay at home and adhere to government orders under the MCO.

“On top of that, the Prime Minister has instructed all government Ministries to make proper preparations in managing basic needs during the MCO; which is a good move by the government.” said HRH further.

Praying to God that the COVID19 pandemic will be over soon, the Johor Ruler also wished for the public to follow orders given out by the government to ensure the pandemic is under control.

Sultan Ibrahim had earlier granted an audience to Prime Minister Muhyiddin at Pasir Pelangi Palace in Johor on March 19, where they discussed the latest developments of the COVID19 situation.
