Azilah should take the polygraph to support his SD

EDITORIAL, Dec 18 – In light of the two shocking statutory declarations that have rocked the nation recently, one of the two persons making the SDs had taken a polygraph test.

Yusoff Rawther was at Bukit Aman police headquarters yesterday to undergo a polygraph test to support his claims that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim had committed sexual misconducts against him in October 2018.

A more shocking declarations were made few days ago by Azilah Hadri, from behind bars, admitting to killing Mongolian model, Altantuya Shaariibuu in 2006, and more importantly pointing to former Prime Minister Najib Razak (who was then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence) for giving him the kill order.

Lawyer Ramkarpal Singh had been under fire for his contradictory treatment of the two SDs, rubbishing Yusoff’s but asking for Azilah’s to be investigated.

He has since clarified that he was taking instructions from his clients; possibly from both Anwar and Altantuya’s father, Shaariibuu Setev.

Azilah’s SD has certainly rocked the nation; in many ways it fills the gap for what had been missing from the trials.

At the same time, many have criticized and rubbished them as a desperate move to save his neck from the gallows, or a political conspiracy against Najib.

Najib’s lawyer Shafee Abdullah had suggested that Azilah met with a VVIP outside of prison, fairly recently.

Azilah’s bid for his case to be reviewed will be heard by the Federal Court in April 2020.

Until then, will Azilah agree to a polygraph test?

Perhaps that is one way to help the police to start investigating his SD.

Yusoff Rawther did for some allegations much less sinister.

So will Azilah do the same?
