KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 — Muhammed Yusoff Rawther has made himself present at the Bukit Aman police headquarters this afternoon for a polygraph test over his claims of sexual assault by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

Yusoff is accompanied by his lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla.

Yusoff offered to take polygraph test

Yesterday, Yusoff had offered to take the test should the police decide to use it.

Police summoned Yusoff today to carry out a polygraph test to assist in the ongoing investigation.

A polygraph is an instrument that simultaneously measures changes in a person’s physiological reactions, such as blood pressure, heartbeat, respiration and electric resistance (galvanic skin response) when one is asked questions.

The tests aim to show whether or not one is telling the truth.

The police, armed forces and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission have used polygraph in their investigations, although they may not be admitted in court.

The test is also conducted subject to agreement by the parties involved.

Yusoff had made a press conference earlier this month, and a statutory declaration was released via social media alleging that he was sexually assaulted by Anwar on Oct 2, 2018.

Anwar has strongly denied the sexual misconduct allegation, calling it a baseless slander and a ploy to tarnish his image ahead the power transition process.

Both had appeared in Bukit Aman to give their statements to assist in the investigation.
