EC Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun announced the key election dates during a press conference in Kuching on Friday, November 6, 2026, following a special EC meeting convened to determine the electoral timeline.
Nomination day has been set for Saturday, November 28, 2026, while early voting for security personnel and military forces will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2026.
The fixed schedule provides political parties and candidates with an official 14-day campaigning period running from nomination day through December 11.
