KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 – Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as profit-taking in selected banking and telecommunications heavyweights weighed down the benchmark index, even as broader market sentiment turned positive following buying interest in small-cap technology stocks.
At 5:00 PM, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dropped 5.29 points or 0.32 per cent to close at 1,616.56, down from Tuesday’s close of 1,621.85.
The benchmark index opened 1.46 points higher at 1,623.31, which served as its intraday high, before touching an intraday low of 1,614.34 during mid-afternoon trading.
Despite the drop in the main index, broader market breadth closed positive, with advancers outpacing decliners 645 to 441. A total of 520 counters traded unchanged, 1,155 remained untraded, and 10 were suspended.
Total market turnover expanded to 2.81 billion units valued at RM2.57 billion, compared with Tuesday’s 2.63 billion units valued at RM2.64 billion.
