ALOR SETAR, Oct 12 – A motorcycle theft allegation is believed to have prompted a group of suspects to torture and beat an 18-year-old youth to death before abandoning his body along Jalan Harvard in Gurun, Kedah police confirmed.
Kedah Police Chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah told reporters during a press conference at the Kedah Contingent Police Headquarters on Monday, October 12, 2026, that authorities were alerted to the discovery of the body at 8:05 AM on October 8.
An official post-mortem examination determined that the victim died from severe blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators believe the suspects acted out of anger after local residents raised complaints alleging that the youth had stolen a motorcycle in the area.
