WASHINGTON, Sept 29 – Meta introduced a new business unit on Monday dedicated to delivering enterprise-level artificial intelligence (AI) services to corporate clients.
Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg expressed confidence in the technology’s trajectory, stating that the company believes “superintelligence will create significant new opportunities” across global commercial markets.
“Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well,” Zuckerberg said.
The newly formed division, Meta Enterprise Platform, will be led by Chirantan Desai, who reports directly to Zuckerberg.
Desai brings extensive experience in enterprise software development, specializing in cloud infrastructure, AI integration, business software applications, and cybersecurity. He recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of MongoDB, a database software firm, and previously oversaw product engineering at Cloudflare. Additionally, Desai spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, holding senior executive roles including President and Chief Operating Officer.
“Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses,” Desai noted in a statement. “Our goal is to make Meta the place enterprises come to scale their businesses.”
