Home Ministry Vows to Crush Foreign Worker Pass Syndicates at the Root, Says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 — The Home Ministry (KDN) is determined to dismantle foreign worker document falsification syndicates at the root without tolerance, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said today.

Saifuddin emphasized that the Immigration Department (JIM) has shifted from a defensive posture to an aggressive strategy designed to cripple fraudulent networks at their source.

“The KDN leadership is determined to dismantle this chain of fraud at the root without any tolerance. Throughout my tenure at the helm of KDN, we have proven that administrative power must be used boldly to safeguard national security,” Saifuddin said in a statement.

He cited recent enforcement under Ops Serkap on Sept 14, where JIM officers simultaneously raided 11 premises across the Jalan Chan Sow Lin commercial area in Kuala Lumpur.

The operation resulted in the detention of 30 foreign nationals, including 11 suspected masterminds—comprising 10 Bangladeshi men and one Bangladeshi woman—who were actively operating the fraudulent facilities. Another 19 foreign nationals (16 Bangladeshis, one Myanmar national, and two Indonesians) were arrested for various immigration violations.

Enforcement officers seized 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones, 10 Bangladeshi international passports, and printed copies of forged electronic Temporary Employment Visit Passes (e-PLKS) alongside falsified police reports.

Investigations revealed that the syndicate sold fake e-PLKS passes for RM150 each, while fraudulent police reports were sold for RM70 each.

Saifuddin warned that such operations severely compromise immigration administration, threaten public safety, and facilitate illegal entry.

“Malaysia is not a playground for criminals. Any foreign party or Malaysian who tries to break the law, forge documents, or conduct illegal activities will be hunted down, arrested and brought to justice accordingly,” he added.

He reiterated that the MADANI Government remains fully committed to maintaining a transparent immigration system, tightening border security, and protecting the domestic labor market from criminal exploitation.
