KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 — Bidding for the special plate ‘H’ series vehicle registration numbers in conjunction with Malaysia Day will open this Wednesday and run through Sept 20, offering numbers ranging from 1 to 9,999.
Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli announced that public bids can be submitted online via the JPJeBid application, with official results scheduled for release on Sept 21.
Aedy Fadly highlighted that the ‘H’ series carries special significance as the final single-letter registration series that JPJ will ever issue, while also symbolising harmony in conjunction with national Malaysia Day celebrations.
“This series is very special, and the public is encouraged to take this opportunity to bid for a number, as JPJ will not be offering any more single-letter series,” Aedy Fadly said at a press conference following the launch of the series today.
He also clarified that the new standalone ‘H’ series differs from commercial taxi registrations, where the letter ‘H’ must be paired with a state identification letter.
“For example, taxis in Perak are registered with the letters ‘HA’, with ‘A’ representing the state registration letter,” he added.
