KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has departed for New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit following the conclusion of his working visit to Sabah on Friday. The diplomatic mission to India includes a series of bilateral engagements with key world leaders alongside bilateral programs in the state of Kerala.

Confirming his departure in an official Facebook post, Anwar shared, “My delegation and I have departed for New Delhi, India to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.” During his stay in New Delhi, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of India, as well as the presidents of Russia, Iran, and Kazakhstan, and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Following his engagements at the summit, Anwar will travel to South India to visit Kerala. Outlining the objectives of the stopover, he noted, “My itinerary in India also includes a visit to Keralam to meet the Grand Mufti of India to exchange views on community development, education and religious affairs,”.

Upon wrapping up his diplomatic itinerary in India, the Prime Minister will head to Malé for an official visit to the Maldives at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. Expressing hope for the diplomatic tour, Anwar added, “May everything go smoothly and may this visit bring tangible benefits to the people and the country. Insya-Allah,”.
