Siti KasimKUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 – Siti Kasim has questioned the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) for allowing a frivolous charge over an incident from three years ago to proceed.

In a scathing attack on the AGC, which is led by Attorney-General Tommy Thomas, and the police via a statement in her Facebook page last night, Siti asked why the infamous incident in which she showed her middle-finger, has been revived.

“Today, 7th Feb 2019, I received a phone call from a very nice Inspector. He told me he got instruction to charge me under 509 immediately. This is about the incident when I showed my middle finger randomly to those who were shouting down and heckling me.

“I asked the Inspector is it possible to do it on this coming Monday. He told me he’ll ask his boss and he later confirmed that its OK. I am grateful to him of course,” Siti wrote before launching into a tirade against one particular officer.

Senior police officer out to get me, says Siti Kasim

According to Siti, that senior police officer is out to get her and wants her charged over the middle-finger incident.

Siti also identified the officer, giving his name as Fadzil and that he was said to be a “Selangor OCCI”.

“I have been keeping this quiet, but I think I must get this out to the public. I know the OCCI SELANGOR who’s name Fadzil has been trying to put me behind bars. I do believe he orchestrated the raiding into my house with the ridiculous mind blowing kidnapping charge. If not because of the unplanned video that went viral, I would be facing a charge for a capital offence.

“Kidnapping carries the death penalty! How I know this you may ask… I have evidence of it of course,” Siti wrote.

She then called for Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohd Fuzi Harun to look into Fadzil’s conduct, claiming that she had been informed of other negative things about the officer from others.

Her reference to the kidnap allegations is over an incident early last year, when the police raided Siti’s home. They said they had received a report accusing the lawyer of abducting her client, then 24-year-old Anis Nur Izzaty Ruslan from a hospital, while under police custody and holding the latter in her home.

The police used this justification to conduct a search of the premises and that resulted in Siti’s arrest under the Penal Code’s Section 186 for allegedly obstructing a public servant from discharging his public duties.

It was then revealed that Anis had taken shelter at Siti’s home to get away from her allegedly abusive mother.

Senior cop ‘an Islamist who hates my guts’

“I am keeping quiet no more and I will fight this and I will make sure anyone who is abusing their powers will get their just punishment. I have many people who have told me how this man (Fadzil) has made their life miserable,” she said.

Siti Kasim added that she had been told that Fadzil is an Islamist “who hates my guts”.

“The Islamists are out to get me by hook or by crook. They have done this to me with the transgender event and charged me for obstruction. I face it proudly because I know I haven’t done anything wrong. I will show that these religious authorities are filled with liars who wear the kopiah and tudung.

“This country cannot be allowed to be run by people like Skuad Badar or Islamist Gestapo in uniforms, hiding behind draconian laws that need to be abolished.

“The persecution of citizens who fight for a just and fair Malaysia for All Malaysians must end now.

“Believe me, I will fight this to the very end. Islamofascists are not going to shake me. You are making me stronger,” Siti wrote.

Middle finger shown at forum on PAS hudud bill

The infamous middle-finger incident took place on September 5, 2016, at a forum to discuss PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s private member’s Bill that seeks to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) in order to expand the powers of the Shariah courts.

Siti directed the gesture at hecklers among those attending the forum and the video of the incident went viral.

Meanwhile, some netizens have pointed out that the fact that the AGC has allowed this matter to proceed with her arrest should also put to rest claims of possible bias and misconduct on the part of Attorney-General Tommy Thomas after he was filmed dancing on stage with Siti at a Malaysian Bar event recently.
