PUTRAJAYA, Aug 7 (Bernama) – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has contacted Pagoh MP Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to provide a statement as a witness in an investigation into content uploaded on a TikTok account.
According to MCMC, the investigation aims to verify the context of a video linking Muhyiddin to a claim related to the targeted subsidy for RON95 petrol.
“The focus of the investigation is to verify the context of the published content and does not involve any allegations or charges against him,” the commission said in a statement today.
To complete the investigation, MCMC said it would call in any relevant individuals if necessary.
MCMC also urged all parties not to speculate and to allow the ongoing investigation to proceed independently, prudently and professionally.
