
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (Bernama) — Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Fuziah Salleh, has been appointed as the new PKR secretary-general, effective immediately, succeeding Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad announced that Saifuddin Nasution, who is also Home Minister, stepped down from his role to focus on his duties as Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general, as well as on his role as a member of PKR’s political bureau and the Unity Government Consultative Council.
Restructuring key positions
This decision is part of a broader restructuring of key positions, as determined in today’s Central Leadership Council (MPP) meeting, aimed at enhancing the party’s operations, he said in a statement today.
“Also, Rizal Jamin will take over as Pahang PKR Leadership Council (MPN) chairman from Fuziah, who will now focus on her new role.
“As for Perak, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri is appointed as Perak MPN chairman, replacing Chang Lih Kang, who will continue serving as PKR vice-president.
“Mohd Azlan Helmi will serve as Perak deputy chairman. All these appointments are effective immediately,” he added.
The party’s central leadership council also approved the establishment of a Management Committee, membered by vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Fuziah Salleh, treasurer-general William Leong, Deputy Chief of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Muhammad Kamil Munim and Deputy Chief of the Women’s Wing Juwairiya Zulkifli, with Saifuddin appointed as advisor.
