ASEAN Energy

Jakarta, September 4 – The Ministry of Energy and Water Exchange will outline Malaysia’s ASEAN energy goals, including power generation, as part of its role as the future ASEAN President.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that the matter will be discussed in a meeting with the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Indonesia, Bahlil Lahadalia, and the Minister of Singapore for human power, Dr. Tan Lee Leng. , tomorrow (Thursday). “We will improve many issues, especially in Indonesia, to strengthen cooperation, including people-to-people, federal and business-to-business relations,” he said.

Fadillah, who is also the Minister of Energy and Water Exchange, said this in a press conference when he met Malaysian guests at the Malaysian Embassy on Wednesday. He arrived here with his delegation at 3:15pm and was received by Ambassador Datuk Syed Md Hasrin Tengku Hussin, to attend the Indonesian International Sustainable Development Forum 2024 (ISF 2024) from September 5 to 6 at the invitation of the Indonesian government.

Fadillah is preparing to deliver a keynote speech at the ISF 2024 to highlight Malaysia’s position in contributing to sustainable development and mitigating climate change by expanding the use of renewable energy at the national and regional levels. This also shows that Malaysia is ready to make sustainable changes, encouraging foreign investors to have more confidence in investing in Malaysia, thereby encouraging investors to pursue environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability initiatives.
