Villagers to get road after 30 years wait – Willie Anak Mongin

Siburan, Sarawak, Feb 13 — The Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister’s Department has approved the proposal to build a village road under the Rural Roads Program(JALB) by the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB), in tandem with the Twelfth Malaysia Plan(RMK12).

According to Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament Yb Datuk Willie Anak Mongin, who has been applying to secure this project since December 2018, this progress comes after 30 years of waiting by the residents of Kampung Biya Jaber in Sarawak.

The 4-kilometer road, with a ceiling cost of RM24 million, is stated to be built according to specifications by the Public Works Department.

“KPLB is in the process of appointing JKR Sarawak as the implementing agency after obtaining approval for the AP182 exemption from JKR Malaysia,” said Willie.

In this regard, Willie Mongin further expressed his commitment to continue bringing more large-scale projects such as this, especially to the people in his Puncak Borneo parliament constituency.

In an Instagram post, the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities also expressed his appreciation to the Federal Government, the Minister of KPLB, Dato Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Former Minister of KPLB Datuk Dr. Abdul Latif Ahmad, Director of KPLB Sarawak, officers in the infrastructure division at KPLB Putrajaya, the Sarawak State Government as well as Mambong ADUN Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil and the JKKK of Kampung Biya Jaber.
