Kuala Lumpur, Dec 22 — Former prime minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is expected to be discharged from hospital within the next few days, the National Heart Institute (IJN) announced yesterday.
In a statement, IJN said Mahathir had completed all necessary investigations for his medical check-up following his admission on Dec 16.
“The team of doctors treating Mahathir is satisfied with the results of the investigations done over the last few days.”
Mahathir, 96, was last admitted to IJN in August 2016 for the treatment of a chest infection.
Prior to that, he was admitted in November 2013, also for a chest infection, and discharged several days later.
