Kuala Lumpur, Sept 8 — Selangor will join Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur in transitioning to Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan on Sept 10, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement, Ismail Sabri said the Special Committee on Pandemic Management had decided at a meeting today that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya would be considered a single area of infection in battling Covid-19.
“Therefore, travel between these states will be allowed, with no roadblocks anymore,” he said.
He said the same easing of restrictions for other states that have already made the transition would apply, including allowing cross-district travel for those who are fully vaccinated.
The committee also agreed to further ease restrictions for the fully vaccinated in Phase One states for sports, leisure, and recreational activities.
Among others, indoor sports activities barring those at gymnasiums will be allowed, while indoor commercial sports and recreation facilities will be allowed to operate on an appointment basis.
For the trade and distribution sector, flower shops and nurseries, shops selling outdoor equipment, and housing galleries will be allowed to operate as well.
For states in Phase Two and Three, additional flexibility will be given for barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons.
Ismail further added that the latest SOP information would be updated by the MKN and relevant ministries.
