Kuala Lumpur, 14 July — The political party MUDA founded by former Youth and Sports Minister Yb Syed Saddiq has been called out for allegedly claiming the efforts of a group of students as their own.

Taking to social media, King Chai, a former press secretary to the Minister of Economic Affairs posted several screenshots on Twitter, tagging both Syed Saddiq and MUDA, and asked for further clarification regarding an Instagram post by @mudacheras for claiming MUDA had “managed to pack and deliver” food bags.

Woon King further alleged that MUDA was stealing credit from a small group of students who raised the funds from friends and family, bought, packed and hand delivered said items to the party for further distribution.

Social media users too were irked, with one user stating “really disappointed to see the youths playing politics at such young age. Is this what Malaysia is becoming? Whatever happened to #KitaJagaKita ? Disappointed

In a response, @mudacheras, after thanking the sponsors for the donations, claimed that the sponsors of the goods did not want to be overly associated with a political party hence the limited credit but clarified that they did not mean to steal any credit.
